My first impressions after unboxing the Husky workbench was just how substantial this unit feels. The all-welded 22-gauge steel frame provides sturdy support while the smooth gloss powder coated exterior resists scratches. The worksurface consists of dense plywood able to withstand abuse. And smoothly spinning the 5-inch casters showed off their premium sealed ball bearings.
Opening each steel drawer revealed equally sturdy build quality, with stiff sides minimizing flex. despite loaded weight. The full-extension slides allow accessing the entire depths of the compartments, with the action smooth enough for casual one-hand operation. Engaging the slide release lever takes more force, ensuring drawers stay securely shut when locked.
Integrated directly on the side is an always-convenient power strip, with 3 grounded outlets plus 2 USB charging ports. It eliminates the need for dangling extension cords when using corded tools or charging devices on the workbench. The strip feels securely anchored and should stand up to jobsite abuse.
In daily use moving throughout my garage, the big 5-inch wheels rolled over surfaces easily despite loaded weight. And the ball bearing construction ensures long term reliability over thousands of miles. Engaging the dual front wheel toe locks prevents accidental movement for stationary tasks.
Loading the drawers to full rated 100 pound capacity caused no issues thanks to the sturdy integrated slides and steel roller frames. The bigger bottom compartments include dual slide sets able to support up to 200 pounds a piece with heavier tools or supplies. Fully-loaded to an estimated 800 pounds, the workbench moved and operated smoothly thanks to its overbuilt construction.
After several weeks testing, opening drawers several dozen times daily, the smooth slide action has remained consistent without loosening or increased friction. Durability has proven on par with many workshop cabinets costing twice the price. Considering the substantial storage capacity, integrated power access, and years of expected reliable use, this Husky workbench provides excellent value.
